A feast for everyone, online too
The Sound Gennaro wants every visitor to be able to read, navigate, and use this site, whatever tools they use. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What we do
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, in a sensible order, with a visible focus indicator on every link, button, and field.
- Headings, landmarks, and labels are meaningful, so screen readers can move around the page the way sighted visitors do.
- Text keeps at least a 4.5:1 contrast against its background, and nothing depends on color alone.
- Photos carry descriptions; decorative artwork is hidden from assistive technology.
- Forms say what each field needs, announce errors next to the field, and never take a payment or hide a step.
- The layout reflows down to 320 pixels wide and up to 400% zoom without sideways scrolling.
- The site is tested with automated checks (axe-core and Lighthouse) and by hand with a keyboard on every release.
Motion
The waves, string lights, fireworks, and boats move on their own. If your device asks for reduced motion, they stop automatically. You can also stop them yourself with the button below or in the footer of every page; the choice is remembered on this browser.
Known limitations
- The map on the Tiki Beach page is provided by Google Maps, whose controls we do not manage. The address and a text link to Google Maps sit next to it.
- Sponsor logos are supplied by sponsors; each carries the sponsor's name as its description.
